That Time of the Month

If you're a female, you understand this problem.

We all have it. That one time, every month, when mother nature just kicks us in the stomach.
And, let's face it, Midol does NOT work. Neither does Midol Complete.

There are some things that I have tried that make it better, and I've found that Dollar General storebrand Ibuprofen (NOT Aleve or Advil) works quite well. So does Tylenol. It's so funny how the "worst medicines ever" often work the best where we least expect it.

Pads or Tampons?
Well, I think it's a wise decision for a young woman under the age of 15 should be using pads. Then, when and if she's ready, she can switch to the tampon that's right for her.

Caution: If your cramps worsen each month, to the point where you're nearly screaming in pain, you should see a doctor, because this can be a SERIOUS problem downstairs.

Birth Control?
Now I'm no expert on this one, but from personal experience, birth control works quite well for most. I've met many girls that have all different kinds of birth control, from pills to patches, and they all have different side effects. For most types of birth control, your chest grows very large, very fast. Your cramps usually disappear, and some birth controls even make it to where you only have 4 periods a year!
All of these things seem great, right?
So, birth control it is then!
WRONG:
Birth control is a very serious thing to get and can be a health risk.
For example, I had a friend who got that birth control chip actually INSIDE her left bicep. It left a nice large bruise for quite a while, and a few weeks later, she started to feel sick. She had to get a mamogram and had to get surgery to remove a tumor from her left breast.
Birth control is a big change and needs to be approached with knowledge and caution. Talk to your doctor. It's the best thing to do.
